Talk about going with the masses; I have fully succumbed. First, I joined Facebook this week and now a blog.
Why Facebook? Because in a span of about 2 weeks, probably no less than 10 people asked me if I was on it and probably no less than 10 times people were talking about it and I was clueless. I felt so behind the times, old, and outdated, so I did it, I logged on. It was strange. I felt like the dorky kid that is always the last to be picked for the dodgeball team. I HAD NO FRIENDS! I was ashamed, embarrased, and to be honest, wondered if I would ever be able to cultivate "online" friendships. Then, I asked someone to be my friend, and they accepted. Then another, they accepted too. And as the week went on eventually several people contacted me to their friend and I said yes. It was all too reminicent of grade school when some random boy asked you to "go with him". You would says yes, even if you didn't know him, and then spend the day at school trying to avoid him. Not that I am avoiding my new Facebook friends, but I am not quite sure what to do with them now that we are officially f-r-i-e-n-d-s. The cool part is now I feel like an official member of the dodgeball team. Either that or the grade school slut.
So now a blog. Why you ask? Mostly because Tom has been been wanting to start one and asked me to help him. We are stranded in the house because Arctic Storm 2008 has hit and today is the perfect day to do this. In order for me to show Chopper how to blog, I thought I had better practice so I can be an effective teacher. Who will read this? Probably nobody but me once a year. But hey, should something happen to me, my words will rock on!

Hey this is really great Lisa. I have had the same experience with being questioned at being on Facebook all in the last week! My reactions were the same as yours so I love the fact that you did it and joined. Me I am still thinking about why I should. So funny your log on the process. So I did try something that others do all the time and submitted by firt Y Tube of my dog Bobbi last week. Then I could not locate it as there were 13,000 others with same title. Oh well it was fun to do and got me watching a lot of cool frisbee air dog movies. See you tomorrow night and thanks for the fun blog. I will be tuning in.
