This was an extraordinary week. Arctic Storm 2008 hit making us abandon our normal routines and spend a little more time at home. It was awesome and I loved every minute of it. I am sitting here thinking that 2008 couldn't come to a close in any better fashion.
What did I do?
- - Drove in the snow to Olympia for Rich & Debbie's beer tasting party
- - Made sushi for the first time
- - Sipped cocktails with Jack and Anne
- - Went snow driving all over the city
- - Went on lots of long walks with Porter
- - Frequented the coffee shop many times
- - Decorated the Christmas tree (well, actually re-decorated it)
- - Cross country skied for the first time in our neighborhood! And crazier yet, there was ski traffic (how cool is that)
- - Spent lots of time helping stranded motorists on the big hill in our neighborhood
- - Made a huge bottle of pomegranite juice explode during rush hour shopping at Trader Joes
- - Ate at the local pub with Kristen & LeRoi
- - Started a fascinating book
- - Dreamed of my fitness goals for 2009 and drafted a plan of action
- - Went to see The Color Purple Door with Gwen and Gina - it was awesome
Things I know this week:
- - Running in the snow is hard
- - Helping others in need feels good
- - I love anything lemon and ginger
- - You have to pick your battles in life and some people simply don't understand this
- - Tom does not know how to string holiday lights on the tree
- - I love watching Porter roll in the snow
- - Good friends can feel like family
- - Cross country skiing is fun
- - I miss my Dad
- - Gin in quickly taking a 2nd to Vodka
- - Someone thinks I am pretty
- - We live in the best neighborhood for our lifestyle
- - The kids and the families of First Place are near and dear in my heart
- - Tom is funny
- - Our Volvo kicks ass in the snow
- - We have some great neighbors and a couple of wing nuts too
- - I am happy to be alive and glad to be cancer free
- - I get excited when my friends have babies
- - Sorrell boots are the greatest
And the week isn't over yet. Part II - venture down to Oregon for a little Christmas family time.

Awesome lists! We have no sidewalks here any more- the plows plowed all the snow onto the sidewalks which means you walka- you sinka-almost thigh-high! Getting to work every day has been nuts- you have to have a good sense of humor. Have a great holiday!!!

Our truck handles great when the bed is full of snow.
Mamma Mia is a very good movie.
It's both easier and harder to ride on the trainer when singing and dancing along with Mamma Mia.
